Tenaciously holds original ideas that are misconceptions or transductive reasoning; ignores evidence; doesn’t integrate new information.

Uses evidence selectively; jumps to conclusions by seeing only part of the picture, but generally able to associate one variable with another.

Records data and guesses about the meaning or restates the information or summarizes the results without explanation of how the data can be used to draw conclusions, describe relationships, generalizations, principles, laws, or theories.

Bases explanations on evidence from observable results obtained from several trials and or sources.

Identifies patterns or relationships among objects and events observed.

Can use the data to select acceptable interpretations from suggested conclusions, and describe relationships, generalizations, principles, laws, theories.

Interprets graphs, tables, and other forms of experimental data.

Interprets qualitative data.

Cautious making claims, connections, and drawing conclusions. Checks all data making sure patterns or trends identified arae reasonable. Changes/ enriches prior ideas with new frameworks.

Records transformed into appropriate graphs, charts, and tables to clearly communicate a relationship between results and conclusions. Recognizes limitations and multiple interpretations of data.
