Flags on the Playground

Chris and Billie measured the polar coordinates of three flags (blue, yellow, red) on the playground at their school. They marked the positions of each flag with an X and labeled each with the color of the flag (map).

Then they checked their work using the same starting point, but changed the zero direction by accident. This time they found the blue flag at 30 degrees, 5 paces and marked it with a small circle.

Where do you think they will mark the position of the yellow flag?

Make a small circle on the grid for it and mark it with yellow.

Where do you think they will mark the position of the red flag?

Make a small circle on the grid for it and mark it with red.

Explain why you marked the red flag where you did.
