Rocks magnified videos
Here are some short videos taken with a proscope at 25X. They show rocks with different properties. The names I assigned them are a best guess.
- The videos can be played at .5 speed to see better (Click the >> to change speed)
- They can also be paused to view, but when paused the image dims.
- Hopefully you can find your own samples.
- Notice the grains of sand in the red and black sandstone compared to the smooth surface in the calcite.
- Compare the size of particles in the sandstones to the those in the clay.
- Can you match them with these rocks.
